Top general vows ‘more crushing response’ if Iran attacked again

Mousavi issued the warning on Wednesday while speaking with reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony to honor the martyrs of the recent 12-day war imposed by Israel.

The regime attacked Iran in an unprovoked act of aggression on June 13, assassinating top military officials and nuclear scientists in targeted strikes, and killing hundreds of civilians in attacks on residential areas.

The United States joined the war on June 22 when it bombed three major Iranian nuclear sites.

Iran responded powerfully, launching drones and ballistic missiles on key targets inside the Israeli-occupied territories, inflicting heavy damage there. The Islamic Republic also fired missiles at a major U.S. airbase in Qatar in response to the strikes on the nuclear facilities, hours before a ceasefire came into force on June 24.  

“In the event of any evil act from the enemies, our response will be more crushing than before,” the top Iranian general said.

He emphasized again that Iran’s response to any unlawful or threatening act will be “decisive and firm,” warning that aggressors will come to regret their actions.

Mousavi praised Iran’s victory in the recent 12-day war with Israel, attributing the outcome to the leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the resolve of the Iranian people, and the strength of the Armed Forces.

The Wednesday ceremony took place four days after a mass funeral was held in the capital, Tehran, for the assassinated military officials and nuclear scientists, as well as dozens more martyrs of the Israeli attacks. President Masoud Pezeshkian and other state and military officials also attended the ceremony held at Tehran’s Grand Mosalla Mosque.
