Iranian Hospitals Treat 3,000 Injured in Unrest Since January 20

According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, He stated that following the Ministry’s announcement that all injured individuals, regardless of background, would receive safe medical care, those with various injuries have sought treatment at healthcare centres.

Kermanpour advised the public not to attempt home treatment for injuries, emphasising that proper care cannot be provided without medical facilities. “Some injuries cannot be treated at home, even by our trained staff with available equipment,” he said.

He added that public trust in the Ministry of Health and hospitals has encouraged people who were previously self-treating at home to seek professional care, resulting in the recent surge of hospital visits.

The spokesperson stressed that identifying individuals involved in unrest is not the responsibility of medical centres; their sole duty is to provide treatment to anyone injured for any reason.

Regarding surgeries for the injured, Kermanpour reported that 12,986 operations have been performed so far. He clarified that this figure represents the number of surgeries, not the number of injured individuals, as some patients may require multiple procedures due to trauma.

According to the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs of Iran’s formal statement, 2,427 citizens—comprising both security personnel and civilians—were “martyred” during recent terrorist and armed attacks, out of a total of 3,117 fatalities re corded during the unrest.
